Saudi Arabia replace Kuwait at AFC Futsal C'ship 2016

Saudi Arabia will feature at the AFC Futsal Championship Uzbekistan 2016 following FIFA’s suspension of the Kuwait Football Association.
Pursuant to the approval of the AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee on October 29 and the ratification by the AFC Executive Committee on 13 November, Saudi Arabia, the next best team from the West Zone qualifiers, will replace Kuwait in the competition.

Japan, Iran, and Uzbekistan are the direct entrants to the competition as the top three sides at the 2014 AFC Futsal Championship, while Kuwait, who finished fourth in Vietnam last year, had qualified on account of Uzbekistan receiving automatic qualification as hosts.

On October 16, 2015, FIFA announced that the Kuwait Football Association has been suspended with immediate effect for government interference with the football body’s affairs.
