Matias Officially Retires From Futsal

One of the game biggest stars ends his career after injury nightmare ...
By @DougReedFutsal

Matias has officially announced he will never play professional futsal again.
Three years ago he was the star of Argentina and Movistar Inter in Spain but during a game against Australia in the 2012 World Cup he broke his leg.
Since this time the 29 year old has faced a long rehabilitation with many setbacks and has only recently being able to walk again without crutches.

It is a huge shame for Mati, who was just reaching the stage of his career when he would be at his peak and was already one of the world’s most exciting and entertaining players, and a huge loss for the game of futsal.
He would have surely of achieved many individual and team successes had he not suffered such a freak injury which happened as he landed awkwardly.
It still brings him too much sadness to attend a futsal match and his objectives are now much more humble as he hopes to one day be able to play again for fun with his friends and future children.
