Aleksandr Rakhimov appointed assistant coach at Dynamo Former Dynamo’s captain Aleksandr Rakhimov has agreed to become Temur Alekberov’s assistant, Dynamo said on Wednesday.
It was on the next day after we returned from Andorra that I was offered to become assistant coach. At that, management made it clear that I was free to carry on being a professional player. I took my time, talked to Dynamo’ president, Andrey Guberknskiy, who said he would approve whatever decision I take.
I was aware that it was coming, but it will take time until I completely understand it. Frankly speaking, I expected to play one last season.
The team has its challenges, and since the head coach says I would help him cope with them, I am ready to step in. I guess the time has come. I am 36 years old, the decision was a tough one, but I took it.
