theworldgame.sbs.com.auIslamic State Hacks Japanese Futsal WebsiteThe official website of Japanese futsal club Fuchu Athletic F.C. was apparently hacked by Islamic State yesterday, with the offending images not removed for up to three hours.By
Scott McIntyreA statement on the club’s website noted that there was a "failure" on the site and apologised for the inconvenience, adding that they are confident no personal data had been comprised.
The club, founded in 2000, is based on the western outskirts of Tokyo and plays in the top division of the 12-team F-League.
A banner posted on the site during the incident claimed the page had been 'hacked by Islamic State… we are everywhere'.
It's unclear why the group would want to target an obscure Japanese futsal team.
Two Japanese nationals were beheaded by IS members in recent months. Haruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto both lost their lives after being taken hostage in IS controlled territories.
