Player and Referee Combine ...
Player and Referee Combine

PFL to host player and referee combines in March Events part of weeklong PFL International Challenge

The week of the Professional Futsal League’s International Challenge powered by USA Futsal will provide opportunity for players and referees alike.

The PFL will host both a player and a referee combine at City Futsal in Dallas prior to the PFL International Challenge, which will feature FC Barcelona, PFL Team Mexico and PFL Team USA.

Keith Tozer and Ramon Raya Mexico futsal men’s national team coach will direct the player combine with additional coaching support.

The top two players from both the United States and Mexico will be asked to train and play with the U.S. and Mexican squads during the tournament, which is March 13-14 in Frisco at the Dr Pepper Arena and March 15 at Gilley’s Dallas.

Additionally, potential participants can go to professionalfutsal.com to register.

“Even though we don't kick off until November 2016 we feel it is imperative that we start identifying and developing both futsal players and referees for our league and its teams,” PFL commissioner Tozer said. “This is the first of several combines that we have planned nationally and internationally for North America, Central America, South America and Europe. What is also fantastic is that four players will be playing for either Mexico or the U.S versus FC Barcelona."
The combine costs $125 per participant and includes a PFL t-shirt and tickets to the PFL International Challenge powered by USA Futsal.

Futsal referee Ed Marco will lead the referee combine. Marco is the only FIFA futsal referee instructor in the United States and one of 21 in the world.

“This first combine is a huge step in providing top-level training and exposure for players and referees,” Marco said. “This is the only time that I can think of that players and Referees have come together for development and identification. What an exciting time for futsal.”
