www.cbfs.com.brCBFS claim they are unable to meet the costsThe Brazilian Futsal Federation, CBFS, have announced that their women’s team will not participate in the 5th Torneo International Femenino, also known as the de facto Women’s World Cup. It is due to be held in Costa Rica after the South American country replaced the original host country of Russia several months ago.
The CBFS claim the reason is due to problems financing the trip. There was recently a change of President after a well-publicised campaign by leading Brazilian players, both male and female, about the mismanagement of the previous incumbent. The new president claims that the federation is in a poor financial state, and that as many of the costs are to be covered by the competing teams for the tournament, they are unable to fund their participation.
