By Doug Reed @DougReedFutsalBrazil are organising a futsal match against Argentina on 7 September where they hope to attract a crowd of 60,000. It will be held in the Mané Garrincha Football Stadium in Brasilia which hosted the recent FIFA World Cup.
The current record for a futsal match stands at 25,712 when Atletico Mineiro faced Río Miécimo in the final of the Brazilian league in 1999. It will be the first game for new Brazilian Head Coach Serginho and will see the return of superstar Falcao. He was excluded after speaking out, along with many other former Brazilian international player, about the mismanagement in the Brazilian Futsal Federation.
The game celebrates the 192nd anniversary of Brazilian independence and Brazil will want to defeat their neighbours who beat them on home soil in the recent Copa de las Naciones. It is an ambitious start to a new cycle for the Brazilian National Team after the resignation of their president of 35 years.
