AGLA is supporting the Green of PUTIGNANO Project

A youth focus, the pride of the whole of Puglia and Italy. We're talking about the futsal school of SSDs SPORT FIVE srl of PUTIGNANO, which is receiving praise from all over. AGLA is connected to this ambitious project that has youth development as its main objective. Albino Decataldo has been responsible for the logistics of the club for a couple of years working only within the segment of the youth section.

Mr. Albino, how many years is on his school soccer 5?
"The futsal school ‘appeared’ from SSd Sports Five Srl of Putignano (Bari) and has been active for seven years in the region, since our late president Massimo Sbiroli gave Professor Nico White, now in charge of the futsal schools in Italy for the Figc-Divisione Calcio a 5, the task of forming and educating young futsal players for the future. Over the years our futsal school has become a point of reference throughout Italy and was, in fact, the first "chartered" school, a title that still holds a guarantee of the highest quality and professionalism of the work that takes place within the Putignanese academy. "

What is the region in question?
"Our region of reference is Putignano, a town of 30,000 inhabitants, but as an example in all of Italy it enables us to be well-known and appreciated throughout Italy. Further, participation in the regional futsal championships in age groups of “Giovanissimi", "Allievi" and "Juniores" offers us the opportunity to be firmly rooted in the whole of the Pugliese region, to such an extent that a diverse range of children from neighboring areas, and not only those, are part of “chartered” futsal school for several years."

What must be, in your view, the purpose of a futsal school?
"The purpose of a futsal school should relate to the physical and educational development from the smallest to greatest athlete, because we must never forget that we are one of the main influences affecting their sports and educational training alongside school and family. In agreement with these goals is the work on the technical-tactical, mental and physical development of our young athletes. One of our main tenets is that every child, with the same commitment, should have the same opportunity to play during official matches. Indeed, this choice has led us to register two teams to the official FIGC provincial and regional championships in each of the categories; "Pulcini", "Esordienti" and "Giovanissimi", so as to give everyone the same opportunity to play. The result of the match is always in the background as we prefer to assess the long-term growth of our players... we are interested in that at the end of the game they have given everything to get a result. "

What have you achieved over the years?
Our best results were those that see our athletes become first of all men who become a successful part of the society that surrounds them. The exponential growth in the number of members and participants in those seven years informs us if the project is a success, and we currently have about 160 players from a very small town. It is a sign of great gratitude from the parents and boys regarding the daily work that is carried out by coaches and administrators on the indoor courts of the Palafive "Maximum Sbiroli."

And from the sporting point of view?
"Firstly, four consecutive participations (2009-2012)at the" Grassroots Festival " at the technical center of Coverciano, an event to which they invited the best football schools and futsal schools in Italy. Our "chartered" futsal school was called as the best futsal school of the Puglia region. Unfortunately, due to a rule introduced by the FIGC 2012, those who participated in "Grassroots Festival" for two consecutive years can not take part so we were not able to continue this tradition even though, Puglia, both this year and last year, were first on the list both for the organisation and the quality of work performed (merit score) and scores obtained during the regional "You're good at school ... futsal" (score sports), results that put us clearly in first place.

In the "Pulcini" and "Esordienti” championships there is no rankings, where our teams won numerous games., our kids have a chance to mature and grow in order to arrive at the first category where rankings exist, “Giovanissimis”. In fact, the children in this class for several years always finished second place in the rankings, whilst always playing great championships and last year were the winners of the Copa Disciplina.

In the “Juniores” category we had a year where we were the winners of the Copa Puglia and arrived at the knockout stage for the conquest of the championship tricolor with the Under-21 category. But the biggest concern of many of our boys was to make the representative futsal squads of the “Giovanissimi", "Allievi" e "Juniores" for Puglia and play in the Torneo delle Regioni di calcio a 5, which have been held for the last 2 years, in addition to the National U21 squad.

Another small recognition for the work done has occurred during the past year which, unfortunately, marked the end of the first team participation in the Serie A di calcio a 5 in December due to the economic crisis. All the players from the first team left and the president Francesco Sbiroli, brother of the late Massimo, decided to fufil his obligation with league, and unlike many teams who have left the league creating organisational difficulties, chose to play with our Under 21 players. Many grew up in the Putignanese academy and playing in the highest national championship gave them the opportunity to grow further by playing in a competition that a month previously they only watched from the stands.”

Is there a nice story from the futsal school?
"Would be unfair to name a few. Working with children and young people always brings funny, entertaining and unforgettable stories.”

Why did you initiate a partnership with AGLA?
"In February of last year, through la divisione Calcio a 5, the company sent us an e-mail with a great offer that after subsequent telephone calls we agreed a definitive agreement."
