On Sunday Middlesbrough Futsal Club found out their opponents for the FA Futsal Super League and they will face 5 time champions Helvecia and 2012 runners-up Oxford City Lions home and away in April and May.
Boro finished in 3rd place in the North, despite an unbeaten start to the season, but with the aim of reaching the Super League accomplished, Chris Hodgson is turning his attention to the 4 game series.
"I'm delighted to be drawn against these two top teams. It will be tough, but I believe we've got the mentality to push them for the top spot. I will be asking the players who wants to be in the Grand Finals, and who is willing to work hard to get there. The players will decide their own destiny, nobody else."
The home matches will be played on 13th April and 4th May and tickets are from £2. The home support played a huge part in last season's Super League run. Boro's support saw the defeat of both City of London and University of Bath at the Pavilion, but an away defeat in London meant the Londoners progressed.
The FA Futsal Super League is the next stage after the regional groups, pitting the top 12 teams in the country against each other in groups of 3. The top team will progress to the final four to be played in June for a place in the UEFA Futsal Cup.
