Junior football: No rest as girls impress on futsal stage

There was no rest for a newly-formed girls football team who took part in a futsal event during a break in their fixtures.

Epworth, who compete in the South Humber under-14s Division, lined up alongside nine other teams from across the area for the event held at Deans Sport and Leisure Centre in Lincoln.

The Isle team - who only formed this season - took seven of their players and came away with two victories, a draw and a defeat in what has proved to be an ever-improving season for the young footballers.

Epworth train every Wednesday from 6.30pm until 8pm at Westwoodside Playing Fields off Akeferry Road.

The side are always interested in hearing from new players. If you would like to have more information about the team, get in touch with Epworth manager Nolan Elliott on 07789 992291.
