FootballAustralia.com.auPerth Glory's own Football in the Community coach Daniel Cappellaro has signed a professional contract to play in Barcelona, Spain with FS Castelldefels who play in the Maxima Cataluyna Futsal Professional League.
Dan who started playing Futsal at the age of 17 at local recreation centres in Perth, represented Western Australia when he was 19 and has played in the local State Futsal League for over 8 years most recently with Cambio Cumbre.
Dan’s impressive Futsal career has seen him play in the Dutch Futsal Eredivisie and for Argentinian club Deportivo Caseros in Buenos Aires, as well as representing Australia in 2012 at the AFA Pacific Cup in San Francisco.
His skills and tricks are well known to the many young footballers in Western Australia who have participated in Perth Glory’s many community programs and these have earned him so much recognition that he even appears as a character in EA Sports “Street Football” video game.
Dan who has worked in Perth Glory’s Community Department for the past two years said "I'm delighted to have been offered this chance to fulfil a dream of mine to play Futsal in Spain, I've had a great time here at Perth Glory working with some great coaches and I will miss coaching the young players that I come into contact with every week".
Perth Glory is very proud of Dan and we wish him all the very best as he takes this opportunity of a lifetime in playing professional Futsal in Europe. Dan is a very popular member of the Glory staff and we will stay in regular contact and keep all updated with his progress.
