Top district reps turn out for Futsal sides

FORMER Fiji 5-a-side rep Sandeep Nair was among some experienced players part of the Nasinu Teachers College (NTC) Futsal tournament yesterday.

The inaugural tournament, which ended late last night, had 16 clubs participating at the FMF Gymnasium in Laucala Bay.

NTC club secretary Amitesh Prasad said top players Joseph Mishra, Jonas Naceva and Samuela Drudru also played in the tournament.

Nair and Mishra teamed up for Friends United while Suva players Naceva and Drudru played for the Bula Stallions of Nadroga.

"The competition level is quite high. After the first round of competition, there wasn't any clear favourites," Prasad said.

"The turnout was also impressive and the standard is quite high. We have Fiji Football referees officiating which indicate the calibre of the tournament."

NTC hopes to make this an annual event.
