Fakhim, who plays for Dabiri, was invited to play for the last time with the Iran national team in their friendly
matches against Russia. At the end of the 2nd game in Yazd city he said his farewell as he retired from international retirement.

"I said goodbye to national team because we should invite young players to improve the national team. We have very powerful players in the Iran futsal league who can help the Iran national team." commented Farhad Fakhim.

He added "I experienced two World Cups with Iran and I am very happy to say goodbye while at my peak."

In the games against Russia in Iran the local side
won in first match 6-3 and drew 2-2 in the second fixture.
