Thai international and Chonburi Bluewave’s heart of attack Suphawut Thueanklang has scooped the AFC Futsal Club Championship 2013 Abdullah Al Dabal MVP award.

Apart from regular heroics throughout, Suphawut scored a crucial equaliser in the final against Sanaye Giti Pasand which extended the match into the added extra-time and then penalty shootout in which the Thai side scored four goal past Sanaye to be crowned the new Asian champions of club futsal.

Suphawut, who scored five goals in the tournament, went on to convert penalty helping Chonburi to become the first club from Thailand to win the coveted title.

“It is a very memorable night for me as a professional futsal player,” the 24-year old told www.the-afc.com.

“I had never thought of winning a top individual award like this and it would not have been possible without the support of my teammates and coaching staff as well as the President of Chonburi Bluewave.

“The club gave me a chance to play futsal when I was looking for a career at the age of 16. I have been provided with numerous chances from the club to play and learn,” added Suphawut who had scored three goals past the mighty Iranians in the AFC Futsal Championship 2012 in the United Arab Emirates.
