Debutants KMF Tango Sarajevo secured progress from the UEFA Futsal Cup preliminary round, while there were opening wins for Hamburg Panthers and MFK VitEn Vitebsk on Wednesday.

KMF Tango Sarajevo ensured they progressed to the main round draw as they followed up yesterday's success against Wrexham Futsal Club with another heavy win against ASA Ben Gurion to wrap up top spot in three-team Group D in UEFA Futsal Cup preliminary round.

FK Nautara Kaunas missed the chance to book their progress as they suffered a big loss against Sporting Clube de Paris in Group A, while FC Anzhi Tallinn's hopes have been ended in Group H. Meanwhile, Wisła Kraków, FC Grand Pro Varna, Hamburg Panthers and MFK VitEn Vitebsk all began their campaigns with a victory. The group winners all progress to the main round, taking place from 1 to 6 October.

Group A
Having beaten hosts FK Nautara Kaunas 4-0 on Tuesday thanks to four goals from Cristian Obadă, Lexmax Chisinau came down to earth with a bump, as they fell 8-0 to Sporting Clube de Paris. Diogo struck three times while Juanillo and Alexandre Teixeira both got two, meaning anything better than a five-goal loss in their last match against Nautara Kaunas will see the French side progress as group winners.

Group B
In a section reduced to three teams by KF Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje's withdrawal, it was first blood to hosts Wisła Kraków. With no games on Tuesday the Polish side defeated KS Ali Demi 5-0 with Ricardo Gomes scoring twice. Ali Demi will next play ambitious English newcomers Baku United FC on Thursday hoping to revive their hopes.

Group C
Vegakameratene and Futsal Minerva of Switzerland cannot be separated at the top of the section after an opening day on which both sides recorded 6-2 successes. Thomas Klaussen scored twice for Norway's Vegakameratene, who have got through this round for the last two seasons, as they overcame Turkish debutants Firat Üniversitesi Elzig, while hosts Stella Rossa Wien lost out to Minerva.

Group D
Having beaten hosts Wrexham Futsal Club 10-0 last night, debutants KMF Tango Sarajevo were in the mood for more goals on Wednesday, as they beat ASA Ben Gurion 8-3. Dražen Novoselac hit a hat-trick to confirm top spot in the group for the team from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who will now travel to Hungary in main round Group 2. Wrexham and Ben Gurion conclude the section tomorrow.

Group E
FC Grand Pro Varna gained an early advantage in Group E as Ivan Jovanović's two goals sent them on their way to a 6-0 opening win against Armenia's FC Shahumyan Yerevan. They sit above KMF Zelezarec Skopje on goal difference after the Macedonian champions defeated Andorra's FC Encamp 4-2. Wednesday's two victors meet on Thursday in a game which could potentially decide first place in the group.

Group F
MFK VitEn Vitebsk of Belarus were in unforgiving mood as they opened the section with an 11-2 success against Scotland's Perth Saltires with Stanislav Lemeshko scoring a hat-trick. Hosts Göteborg Futsal Club went ahead twice but ended up needing a late goal from Niklas Asp to secure a 3-3 draw with Irish side Eden College Futsal who made the main round last year and face Vitebsk on Thursday.

Group G
Hamburg Panthers made a strong start as they saw off Hibernians FC of Malta 7-2 with the help of three Mohamed Labiadh goals. Hosts FS Ilves Tampere have an uphill struggle to qualify, meanwhile, after losing 4-2 to debutants JB Futsal Gentofte of Denmark in a match where José A. Carracedo struck the group's second hat-trick of the day.

Group H
FC Anzhi Tallinn's hopes of qualifying are over after they suffered a second defeat in two days. After yesterday's 8-7 loss to hosts Víkingur Ólafsvík they needed to beat Athina '90, but instead fell to a 6-2 defeat to the Greek outfit who will next take on Víkingur on Thursday for top spot.
