The
Mini Club World Cup in Kuwait ended on July 27th 2013 with the title taken by Misr Lelmakasa from Egypt. The tournament has been evaluated as a resounding success by everyone concerned.
One of the principal objectives was to provide entertainment during Ramadan and this was certainly achieved with some spectacular action on display. Spectators have seen drama, fast paced skillful action and plenty of goals as is inherent in the game of futsal.
It has received worldwide attention and provided excellent promotion for Kuwait and sport in the country. It is shown that it is an excellent location and host for a world class sporting event. Further futsal is growing in importance around the world and this tournament will help the sport develop in the country.
The organisation and presentation of the event were exceptional and credit must go to all those involved in the organisation. None more so than
Sheikh Talal Al- Mohammad Al-Sabah, whose vision and execution was responsible for such a wonderful experience that was had by all those involved.
The event will go down in the history of futsal and Kuwait. It will be remembered fondly by all those who were able to experience it, whether in the hall or watching around the world. They will all be hoping that 2014 will see a 2nd edition, and it could be even better.
