DANIEL, A FIRST-CLASS SUPERSTAR COMES TO THE BENCH OF ERA-PACK!

Once Brazilian futsal coach Cacau left Chrudim for a position in Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan, a question of his replacement arise. ERA-PACK management kept the new person in a coaching role a secret for a long time, not wanting to jinx the ongoing negotiations. Now it's all clear, the new coach is 37-year-old Spaniard with Brazilian roots Ibañes Daniel Caetano.

If the arrival of Cacau as a player four years ago was talked about as an arrival of a superstar, because it was a well-known personality of the world of futsal. But now how should we evaluate the arrival of Daniel? His personality combines a former star of the first magnitude, world champion of 2000, four-time European champion and the player who Futsal "scored" everything that could scored in futsal world. Including four victories in the UEFA Futsal Cup, a competition in which ERA-PACK would like to slip between the top four teams.

"I have chosen ERA-PACK because it is a club that has an excellent reputation in Europe," Daniel said on Tuesday before his arrival to the Czech Republic. "It has a great team composed of both experienced players and predatory youth and has high goals for each season. This suits me." Daniel, thanks to injuries, which a few years ago ended his playing career is not unlike its predecessor to appear on the court. So he can concentrate purely on his coaching role.

ERA-PACK President František Tichý put the matter of the new coach to the center of his attention. "It was not an easy work. With sporting director Peter Horak we picked out of a bunch of names of more or less well-known coaches, in the end we had four hottest candidates," he said a few days ago for the club website. "Not only Cacau helped us with the final selection, whose advisory role was very important to us, but Mareš brothers and Dentinho were also involved." Finally, the choice fell on Daniel and thanks to his fame we can expect growing European interest in the Eastern Bohemian team.

In the new season, the new coach would like to break into the European elite. "We would like to meet the desired dream in UEFA Futsal Cup, so we have to be totally prepared," says Daniel. He has a large experience in this competition, not only he won it in 2000, 2004, 2006 and 2009 with his teams he also holds trophies for the best player and scorer (both 2000). "But of course we do not forget the domestic competition and cup. Other teams bring new players and will make it harder to defend the league title and win the Cup," assures fans experienced Spaniard, who, though a native of Sao Paulo, accumulated more than one hundred matches played in Spanish representation.

Coach Daniel doesn’t come to Bohemia empty handed. Not that the players should expect any gifts, but from Madrid, he brings his fitness trainer Antonio Lopez Chica with him. He will operate with the team from 01.08 to 11.8. and will be responsible for the physical readiness of them team at the beginning of training. So that Daniel Ibañes Caetano can fully begin to apply his experience gained during the studies of highest coaching level, which concluded in July this year.
