Falcao attends Al Roudan tournament in Kuwait

Huawei — a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider-has teamed up with Brazilian football legend Alessandro Rosa Vieira, known simply as ‘Falcao’ to his global fans, in a series of local promotional activities during this month’s Al Roudan Football Tournament. One of the country’s most anticipated events of the summer, the football tournament is being held for the 34th consecutive year throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

This year the annual tournament consists of 40 regional teams and features a variety of international VIP guests including the likes of Falcao, who during his visit to Kuwait has signed on as acting Huawei Brand Ambassador appearing in Huawei-branded shirts and sporting the company’s latest smartphone devices during engagements with tournament fans. Amongst the other VIPs of this year’s tournament are World Cup winner and former Juventus star Allessandro Del Piero as well as various legends from both Real Madrid & Barcelona football teams.

“The quality of play during this year’s tournament is very good, and the atmosphere created by the Organizing Committee during matches is equally exciting,” adds Falcao. “It was an easy decision for me to be part of this event and to tie up with a leading global brand like Huawei who has been a fantastic partner in supporting activities at the tournament that really give back to the fans.”

For Huawei, the partnership with Falcao is yet another significant step in its efforts to build its brand amongst consumers in Kuwait and the wider Middle East through the field of sports marketing. On a global scale Huawei has already participated in many other notable sporting projects including a broadcasting agreement with Eurosport signed last year and agreements to sponsor various Italian Supercup and Spanish La Liga football matches.

The Al Roudan Football Tournament is being broadcasted daily from 3pm-6pm Kuwait time running during the entire Holy Month of Ramadan until August 6th, and is covered live by leading Kuwaiti and regional TV channels.
