Crystal Palace Foundation crowned regional futsal champions

The good times keep on coming for Crystal Palace after their futsal team were crowned regional champions last week.

The Crystal Palace FC Foundation A and B futsal teams were announced as worthy winners of their group at the National Futsal Finals held at Birmingham Arena on July 6 and 7.

Foundation Football Development Officer Michael Harrington said: “What a great season these 2 teams have had, scoring 139 goals this year at an average of over 5 per game.

“And to think this was the first time all but 1 of them had played any Futsal. I am very, very proud of all the boys.”

The team are now recruiting for the new intake of Futsal and Education Scholars for September 2013.

The two year course gives 16 and 17 year olds the opportunity to be part of the Crystal Palace FC Foundation Futsal Team whilst studying for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma.
