Bank of Beirut BlogWelcome back to Lebanon. It is your first experience with Bank of Beirut Sporting Club which is considered a promising team to compete this year in the league. How do you evaluate the team before the start of a tough futsal season? We have excellent players but that does not mean that we have a strong “team”. There is a lot of work to do to make a strong team. My strategy is to make all players reach a high level of playing including the bench players. We need to have a team where all players can implement what they are asked for. The substitutes should not be hard for us.
So many stars with Bank of Beirut Sporting Club, and now after signing Dodo, the Brazilian player, how you will manage the players and the ego they might have and how you will divide the roles among the players?I don’t consider that my team has star players and the players know that since I have told them during our first training session that we will start everything from zero. We will have a new way of playing, and the player who proves himself will have more minutes on court. We will keep working with this strategy and I am finding that the players are satisfied and happy and developing their skills and way of playing.
Why have you chosen Dodo da Costa to join Bank of Beirut team?I know Dodo from the Serbian Futsal league. Dodo is a very good player and was considered one of the best in the Serbian league. He is a left-footed player and a very good shooter. I have chosen him to fill the gaps in our team so that the we will play real and pure futsal.
What is the Message you would like to send to your competitors? We will respect all teams.
Which club you see as the most powerful competitor? All teams are good. We should be focused on every game and give our best to win each game and succeed to reach our set target.
What is your target? My target is to improve the skills of my players so that we will have a strong “Team” and consequently the result will come at the end.
So we are promised that you will win the league and qualify to Asia? No, we don’t promise anything. We will just do our best as coaching staff, players, and club management, after that the result come. We reap what we sow!
