Bristol City FCFutsal partnership with King's CollegeWed 10 Jul 2013by
Adam BakerKing’s College Futsal players took part in a joint training session with Bristol City’s Futsal students in the first of a series of events as a part of a new relationship to develop and promote the sport.
As the first Independent Schools FA (ISFA) Futsal Development School, King’s College, based in Taunton, has been developing this popular indoor sport in partnership with Somerset FA and ISFA.
The partnership recently completed a 12-month FA project to promote Futsal within King’s College and other local independent, primary and secondary schools.
Futsal is part of an extensive football program at King’s College with students able to participate in various formats and access leadership opportunities through FA-approved courses.
Over the coming year City’s Community Trust will be developing its links to enhance the programme in Bristol, as well as aiming to set up a satellite programme in Taunton. The two will meet again in September at King’s College.
The Community Trust are still looking to fill the remaining few places on the NVQ course, Foundation Degree course and Girls B-Tec course starting this September. To request an application form simply e-mail ian.parkes@bcfc.co.uk.
City’s Futsal A team recently reached the quarter-finals of the national champions tournament.
