The opening ceremony of the Kuwait Mini World Futsal Club Tournament will be unique and a qualitative move, as the segments to be presented by an Australian company are not like those we are familiar with as the start will be with a song by Bashar Al-Shatti. The ceremony will be an hour long, including the speech of the chairman of the organizing committee Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad. The ceremony was decided to be short to avoid boredom. It was learned that the ceremony relies on technology and lasers, along with other surprises.

There is no doubt that Sheikh Talal wants to send a message to all those who believed that Kuwait’s role as a pioneer in sports has taken a backseat, and this cannot happen as we have young leaders who are able to manage and organize such as Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad. The tournament and its opening ceremony will be an outstanding mark in international indoor football and organization.

Tournament Director Khalid Habeeb said the Australian company has finished installation of all equipment according to the time schedule and trials are underway. Habeeb thanked Sheikh Talal for providing all these facilities, adding that what will be shown during the opening ceremony are special requests by Sheikh Talal, adding that he has designed the medals and cups.

Meanwhile, Qadisiya Club player and member of the national team Abdallah Sheikhan thanked Sheikh Talal for the efforts he exerted to bring indoor soccer to higher levels lately, adding that Sheikh Talal is the patron of the game and “always in our support both morally and materially, and this makes us bring out the best”. The Kuwaiti team is now participating in the world indoor cup, and performed strongly in Asia.

Goalkeeper of the National Team and Qadisiya Club Sayyed Hassan Al-Mousawi said holding a tournament such as this in Kuwait will bring good returns to Kuwait’s sports in general and indoor soccer in particular. “I am proud that a major tournament is being held in Kuwait, especially that it is sanctioned by FIFA and the Asian Federation,” he said. Mousawi said Al-Qadisiya’s participation will not be “just to participate”, “as we have four international professionals, and we will bring three more, which will make the team stronger and coherent”.

The opening ceremony will be on Saturday, July 6. It was also revealed that the total prizes amount to $500,000. The champion will get $100,000, runner-up $50,000, third and fourth places $25,000 each and the rest will be distributed to the teams.
