Mini Club World Cup ready to open in Kuwait

Opening Ceremony on Saturday 6th July ...
The final matters are being arranged before the Mini Club World Cup in Kuwait begins. The event is set to dazzle the country of Kuwait and the world of futsal, starting with The Opening Ceremony on Saturday 6th July.

Participating Teams Arrive


All the hard work that has gone into ensuring the organisation of the tournament is to the highest standard in the past months is coming to fruition now as the teams begin to arrive. Each team will be welcomed by representatives from the tournament and the press will be on hand to record the moment they enter Kuwait. The first team to arrive was Alumnus from Croatia and they were escorted to their accommodation at the luxurious 5 star Regency Hotel, where the teams will stay for the duration of their visit.

Media Presence

Several important media figures have arrived to cover the tournament for various broadcasters across the region, they include Battal Al Kaws, Mohammad Al Afraj, Jodah Abdulsalam and Jasim Al Harbi. Hamlan Al Hamli, goalkeeper of Kazma SC, expressed how proud he is for Kuwait to be hosting such a big event with such huge media coverage and interest from all over the world.

The Opening Ceremony

The Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, Sheikh Talal Al Mohammed, has been inspecting the finest details of The Opening Ceremony during preparations, recognising its importance as the first image to be broadcast of the tournament.

Proceedings will start with the national anthem at 19.30, followed by verses read from the Holy Quran. After this there will be speeches by Sheikh Talal Al Mohammad and HH Prime Minister to officially open the tournament.

Bashar Al Shatti will sing the official tournament song and then the ceremony will be presented by Lillian Tanouri, who did an excellent job earlier during the draw. Ms Tanouri has assured those that will be in attendance that the extensive preparations will ensure a wonderful opening ceremony and there will be a big surprise for everyone.

Praise for Chairman

There has been praise for the role of Sheikh Talal Al Mohammad from many quarters. Many have commented on how he has led all the working committees, ensuring an exceptional level of organisation, though it comes as no surprise. This is shown by the fact that both FIFA and The AFC have sanctioned the competition.

Sheikh Al Mohammed has thanked HH Shk Jaber Al Mubarak - PM for attending The Opening Ceremony and Sheikh Dr. Talal Al Fahad, President of Kuwait FA, for his support and assistance.

Legacy

The objective of the tournament is not just to have an impact during the tournament but also to leave a long lasting legacy. Sheikh Talal Al Mohammad has expressed his joy that this tournament will support futsal in Kuwait and also sport in the country.

Yousef Al Baghli, player of the Kuwait National Team and Kazma SC, and Fawzi Ibraheem, former Head Coach of Kuwait Futsal National Team and Al Arabi SC, noted how the tournament will help develop the sport in the country. Eid Sabej, former player and current coach of Al Shabab SC, wishes that it will open the door for professionalism of futsal in the country.

Mohammad Al Adwani, U22 national head coach and former player of the Kuwait National team and Al Naser SC, said that he hopes such a great tournament to be organised repeatedly in the future as it is very important at a world level and it will attract a collection of famous stars from around the world. Saleh Zakaria, Former Head Coach of Kuwait Futsal National Team and Salmia SC, repeated this saying he hoped it would be held annually.
