Countdown beginsIt is just a few days now until the Mini Club World Cup kicks off in Kuwait and the excitement is building. The teams are eager to start and the fans wait in anticipation to see some spectacular futsal.
The event will be an important moment for the country of Kuwait and its sporting pedigree. Kamil Al Shammari, member of the Kuwait FA Futsal Committee, considers it to be a source of pride for all Kuwaitis and gave his assurances that the Kuwait FA will support the Organising Committee (OC). He added that the Kuwaiti clubs that are participating have the chance to compete for the title even if there are many strong teams.
Abdullah Shaikhan, star of Qadsia and National Team stressed that they were drawn a very strong group but Qadsia still has a chance to compete and progress. He said it will be beneficial for the players of Kuwait as they will face big names and stars from world futsal. Further he believes the popularity of futsal will double in Kuwait and the Gulf region thanks to the tournament.
Faisal Al Ghareeb, player of Salmia SC and Kuwait National team, repeated this sentiment saying the attendance of high level players from all over the world will give every player in Kuwait a chance observe their performances, and this will enhance their experience and will be a positive factor for their performances in the future. He is also has full confidence that the tournament will be a great success.
Al Mosawi, goalkeeper of Qadsia and Kuwait National team, said it will make him proud and all people involved with sport in the country proud to have such a global event in Kuwait.He thanked Sheik Talal Al Mohammad and The OC for the great effort and wonderful organisation.
Strong media presenceThe tournament will have wide coverage from media organisations. Many famous personalities will cover the tournament, for example famous football players Bashar Abdullah and Majed Abdullah. Television stations from several different continents will broadcast daily reports on the tournament.
Opening CeremonyRehearsals for the Opening Ceremony have begun in the Kazma SC hall. The ceremony will not be traditional, lasting over an hour and with several wonderful sections, and is certain to leave a memorable impression.
The organisation behind the Opening Ceremony has an international feel to it just like the tournament. The company behind it is Australian, there are two Italian producers and 77 foreign technical staff will ensure it runs smoothly.
The director of The OC, Khaled Habeeb, said that everything is on time and that the Opening Ceremony will be one of a kind at a world level. He added that The OC and working committees were operating like one family and there is great spirit and enthusiasm.
To ensure no element of this spectacular production is missed there will be 19 cameras distributed around the hall to catch all the wonderful action. The countdown begins until The Opening Ceremony and the first kick of the ball at the competition.
