Asian Indoor Games: Big win for the hosts

Incheon: Hosts Korea Republic hammered Hong Kong 7-1 to top Group A with maximum six points from two matches in the 2013 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games on Friday.

Lee Min-young scored two while Kim Gyeong-Geun, Kim Ho-jin, Lee Jong-won, Lee Min-kuk and Leung Hing-kit scored a goal apiece for the Koreans. Also chasing the Koreans in the group are FIFA Futsal World Cup 2012 participants Kuwait who defeated Macau 5-0. The Sunday’s tie between Korea Republic and Kuwait will decide the group winner who will be participating in the knockout stages.

After the 29-1 drubbing from Thailand, Bhutan conceded 16 goals to Malaysia in Group B consisting only three teams. The Sunday showdown between Thailand and Malaysia will determine the Group B winners.

Likewise, Vietnam, who registered 4-1 win over Palestine in their first outing, will take on Lebanon on Sunday to decide the Group C winner.

The winners of seven groups alongside with best second-placed side will advance into the knockout stages of the competition.
