Go Aztects.comFormer Aztec Chiles Helps USA Win Futsal TourneyJune 21, 2013SAN DIEGO - Former San Diego State standout Kraig Chiles recently helped the USA win a four-team futsal tournament in England with a sweep of Poland, Malaysia and England.
Chiles, who also plays for the San Diego Sockers, shared the team lead with Machel Millwood by scoring five goals in tourney action.
The U.S. opened with a 2-1 victory over England and proceeded to defeat Malaysia, 8-1, and Poland, 4-2. In the win over England, Chiles was credited with the game-winning goal.
Chiles, a native of San Diego, is a three-time PASL MVP as a member of the Sockers. This past season, Chiles second franchise single-season record for goals (56) and points (72) in helping San Diego to a 15-1 record and its fourth straight PASL title.
Chiles scored 21 times over his career with the Aztecs (2003-07). He was a three-time all-Pac-10 Conference selection, earning first-team honors in 2007, honorable mention accolades in 2006 and second-team recognition in 2005.
In his final year on Montezuma Road, Chiles led the Pac-10 in shots (62) and was second with 20 points on eight goals and four assists. He also led SDSU in games started (19) and shots on goal (26).
