Force too strong for Town

by Colin Thompson

Jun 3, 2013

Footy Force lived up their name during weekend Bermuda Futsal Federation (BFF) Youth League action at Dellwood Middle School Gym.

Force came from two goals down to edge Dandy Town 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.

Hornets appeared to be in full control of the Under-16 match after going into the half with a 3-1 lead.

Force, however, rallied after the break and scored three unanswered goals as Hornets unravelled at the seam.

Any hopes Town might have had of at least grabbing a share of the spoils evaporated as Force scored the game winner right at the end.

Josh Hardtman (Force) and Jahtino Martin (Hornets) were chosen as men of the match.

Footy Force’s Under-12 team also savoured the sweet taste of victory as they thumping Bermuda Brazilian Football School Blue 8-1. Deigo Richardson (Force) and Khiari Sharrieff-Hayward (BBFS Blue) received man of the match honours.

Bermuda Brazilian Football School also came up short in a 5-2 loss to Hamilton Parish in Under-12 action. Chekai Zuill was named as man of the match for the Hot Peppers.

Three other matches scheduled to take place on Saturday morning failed to get underway.

ABC Valencia won their Under-10 match with Warwick Academy by default while North Village won their Under-14 and Under-16 matches with Hamilton Parish in the same manner.

Matches are played at Dellwood Middle School Gym on Saturdays, beginning at 9:30am.
