Futsal club Baku United becomes champion of England

Futsal club Baku United, created by UK-based organization "Odlar yurdu", has won the championship of England.

Beating all its rivals in the "Final Four" of the National Futsal League of England, Baku United won the title of champion, news.az reports.

The "Final Four" involved United Baku, Helvecia, London United and Sheffield.

In the semi-finals, Baku United met Sheffield. Score in the first half was opened by Sheffield. Despite the big advantage, the Bakuvians managed to level the score in the middle of the second half. Increasing the pressure on the opponent at the end of the match, Baku United scored the winning goal in the last second of the match, thus gaining a strong-willed victory and going into the final round.

In the final match, Baku United met Helvecia - the champion of the last five seasons. The match was quite difficult for both teams. The regulation time ended in a draw - 0-0. In the extra time, Helvecia managed to open the score. However, encouraged by the strong support of the fans, Baku United rushed forward, again at the end of the match, scored an equalizer.

In the penalty shootout, Baku United showed an enviable composure and won with score 5-3, thus, becoming the futsal champion of England. In the next season, Baku United will represent England in the UEFA Cup.
