The Borneo PostTeam from Kapit wins futsal tournamentMay 2, 2013, ThursdayKUCHING: Kapit-based Katibas MG have won the SPDP Tasik Biru Futsal Tournament yesterday.
The team was among the 40 teams from all over the state which competed at the tournament.
In the final match played at Jalan Stakan, they beat team Royalist Jr of Kuching 2-0 to clinch the title.

After the match, Katibas MG player Ulyses Roland was adjudged the tournament’s best player.
“We came all the way from Kapit for this tournament. We know that we are up against very good teams competing in this tournament,” he said.
Roland added that his team dedicated the cup won to everyone from Kapit and hoped that more futsal teams from Kapit would dominate the Sarawak futsal arena.
“I am going to print out my picture with the medals I have won today and hang it on my longhouse walls. I want this win to be an inpiration to the youngsters in my longhouse too.”
The tournament’s closing ceremony was officiated by Tasik Biru Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) Youth Chief Edid Ngupel.
“I am very happy with the over-whelming response towards this tournament. I will organise it again soon,” he promised.
