The Sergio Benatti's truth on his Georgian farewell

Disappointment is the word, even from a golden place like Rio de Janeiro definitely is. But Sergio Benatti is a "futsal man" since a life, so that missing a week-end in Tbilisi is harder than one on the carioca beaches (forgive us for the banal stereotype, but we couldn't miss this chance!).

In the past days Iberia Stars management announced to have parted ways with Sergio Benatti, replacing him with Aleksandr Sarkisyan on the bench (click here to read the UEFA.com report on the matter). A shocking news, if you consider that came just one week previous to the "challenge of the year": the UEFA Futsal Cup Final Four, hosted by the georgian side for the first ever time.

A common and shared decision? Yes, according to Iberia's staff. No hope, if you listen to Sergio Benatti.

"In Iberia Stars I was working as coach, physical trainer, goalkeepers coach. I was the one looking for new players and trying to fix things for the ones leaving the club. Due to this reason I was talking with the club in order to modify and renew my agreement with them. After many attempts, I got tired of this situation and decided to quit.

I've taken a club with a poor organising structure and lead them in the best 4 of Europe, this would have been my third UEFA Futsal Cup final four.

The "decisive event" which convinced me to leave my job happened 15 days ago in the friendly games against Araz Naxcivan, played in Baku, but I prefer not to give more details about that.

Now I'm just looking for the next chance, evaluating the futsal market and ready to find a new club"
