PAOLO AGUS & AGLA Celebrate Victory Together

PAULO AGUS from Sestu (Cagliari), whose kit supplier is AGLA, has won the Coppa Italia Serie B. The Sardinian club has lifted the prestigious trophy at the conclusion of the Final Eight, which took place in Porto San Giorgio in Marche, the home region of AGLA.

For the squad led by Enrico Cocco it was triumphant moment, a crescendo in the style of Italian composer Gioachino Rossini. In the quarter finals they defeated the hosts of Porto San Giorgio. In the semi finals the won 6-3 against La Cascina Orte. Then the masterpiece in the final with a victory against the Venetians of Came Dosson 7-4.

The team's and tournament's leading goalscorer was Nurchi with 4 goals, closely followed by Wilson with 4, Rocha and Algodao with 2 and Beto, Mura, Asquer Serpa who all scored one (PAULO AGUS also benefited from an own goal). Nurchi was also the top goalscorer in Serie B Group D with 24 goals.

The general manager of the Sardinian club, ALESSANDRO AGUS, recounts the experience in Porto San Georgio "In some ways we expected to win the Coppa Italia Serie B. We feared La Cascina Orte, whom we beat in the semi finals, and Camongnola, who were knocked out in the first round. Porto San Forli were also very but they were eliminated by Came Dosson in the semi finals. Against the Venetian team we felt a victory was more achievable."

"We were delighted because we got sweet revenge against La Cascina Orte who won our group in Serie B. We have demonstrated that we can challenge them during the final part of the league. Further against them this season our head-to-head record is 2-1 in our favour and we also are ahead on goal difference"

"Raising that trophy gave us great satisfaction because we entered into the history of futsal in Sardinia. We are the first team from the island to have won La Coppa Italia in futsal. It repays a little bit of the efforts we have made in the last seven years of the club."

PAULO AGUS have no time to enjoy their success as they are already preparing for the first game of the two legged playoff fixture with Ariccia, who finished fifth in group D. ALESSANDRO AGUS commented "The playoffs are our objective for the season because we are aiming to get promoted to Serie A2 and we want to do it without having to play a Serie A2 team in a playoff. Unfortunately the Final Eight has left us with some injured players but we are ready."

Finally the general manager of the Sardinians spoke about AGLA's products. "The shoe model ONE are great and very comfortable. The ANTISHOCK system greatly reduces problems with the heel. The balls, BOLA ONE and BOLA FIVE, are fantastic and are the best around. The shirts and kit are really perfect products. We have never had such beautiful kit."

AGLA, the futsal specialist. The brand from Marche has established itself with its professional products for the sport, both in Italy and around the world. Footwear, balls, clothing and accessories are preferred by players whenever they play futsal and receive their recognition due to the fact that they always enhance performance.

To support all the stores that have supplied and continue to supply AGLA equipment and at the same time promote and increase awareness of this wonderful sport of futsal, we created the AGLA SPECIALIST project that has been active for some years. It is structured package of benefits that AGLA offers thanks to the trust that has been built up with all those involved in futsal.

AGLA is collaborating with Divisione Calcio A 5 (Italian 1st Division) through the provision of equipment and they have initiated an interesting, innovative and experimental project called LO CALCIO 5. The project's objective is to start futsal schools through the clubs of Serie A, Serie A2 and Serie B. A 'Lo Calcio a 5 Technical Guide' has been produced that provides information of the technical fundamentals of futsal. The book has been illustrated with simple drawings, pictures and diagrams. AGLA is supporting this project with clothing and bags.

AGLA has also agreed a partnership with the L'UNIONE ITALIANA SPORT PER TUTTI and with CIRCUITO 24HR, two organisations that arrange futsal events in sport facilities located throughout the whole of Italy.

AGLA organises special events at stores called AGLA DAY. These aim is to provide information on AGLA products with the presence of AGLA PLAYERS. With over 100 of these it is an opportunity to find out about the players' direct experience of our products and all the various features they include.
