Vara Creek futsal team gets ward grant share

Honiara City Council Ward 7 Member, Eric Tema yesterday stepped in to assist Vara Creek community with sporting equipments.

The equipment include a set of Futsal uniform, volleyball balls and soccer balls.

Councilor Tema said the assistance was made possible under the ward grants for the ward.

He said he was grateful to allocate that money for a worthy cause that will surely help engage youths in sporting activities.

“This is part and parcel of the ward grant and I am so happy youths of Vara Creek are benefiting from this assistance especially in sports.”

Vara Creek Futsal Team Manager Sam Talafulu expressed his team’s appreciation for the assistance and said it was great to have a concern councilor who is supportive of youths programs.

A community elder also said that he was grateful for the assistance provided especially for the sporting equipments which will go towards their community’s participation in the upcoming Easter games.
