Most communities these days do not have big enough areas in which to play sports. And even football—a game that requires little more than two groups of boys (or men), a ball and a little open space—has become quite impossible to play in most communities these days.
BG Brother’s, situated in Kathmandu’s Pepsi Planning area, is one of the newest health clubs in the Valley to feature an indoor futsal pitch. The club, which currently has two futsal pitches and a badminton court, will be officially opening on March 9. Lalit Krishna Shrestha, the vice-chairman of ANFA, will be inaugurating the club at a ceremony set to take place at 7 am. A futsal match, set to take place between 20 groups from the city, will begin at 9 am, and the winners will be awarded Rs 15,000 (first place) and Rs 10,000 (second place), along with trophies and certificates.
The health club will soon feature a swimming pool, meditation centre, a children’s park and a basketball court, along with a fully-equipped gym hall, and Bhojindra Timilsina, one of its board directors says they hope to provide a peaceful atmosphere in which Kathmandu denizens will be able to exercise and play sports. “Our man concern is people’s health. We hope to provide the best services possible to Valley denizens and establish ourselves as a trusted health club.”
