Grimjoes FC win Sportex Futsal Championship

LAHORE: Grimjoes FC defeated Ideal FC in the final to win the Sportex Futsal Championship at Model Town Ground here on Saturday evening. The winners, who battled till the end and played their best game, won a cash prize of Rs.8000 along with a glittering trophy while the runners up received a trophy. The event was organised by Ahab Meer and Ali Masood of the ‘Gladiatorz Production’. The event, which was a huge hit among youngsters, had kick-offs, goals, assists, shootouts, breakaways, crossbar shots, countless hours of practice, Nike cleats, thousands of rupees, shin pads, big passes, loud chanting, new equipment, sniping shots, corner kicks, coaches, fights, let downs and miracles. The teams were very passionate to win the trophy and tremendous talent was seen during the championship. At the conclusion of the championship, the organisers thanked Mr Rehan Gillani, the CEO of ‘Guardian Group’ – a real estate resource management group – who was kind enough sponsor the event. “We are thankful to them as they provided us with the support to hold such a marvelous event; the event would not have been successful without their support,” said Ahab Meer in a statement.
