Zahira ‘A’ emerge as Matale futsal champs

Zahira College ‘A’ beat Ajmer National School Ukuwela 4-3 on penalties in an exciting final to emerge champions in the Matale Distric Schools Under-19 Boys’ Futsal Championship 2012held at Bernard Aluvihare Stadium in Matale.

Both teams having scored two goals each – Mohamed Isham and Ashrof Ali for Zahira and Mohamed Dilshard and Mohamed Najab for Ajmer NS.

The game was deadlocked at two-all at full time and the final outcome was decided on penalties where Zahira ‘A’ emerged victorious by 4-3.

Senthil Kumar and R. Sundarraj controlled the final. In the semi-finals Zahira ‘A’ beat Royal English Matale 1-0 and Ajmer NS beat Zahira ‘B’ 1-0.

The competition was conducted by Matale Football League.
