Mark FarmerHereford United A picked up their first win of the season with a 5-3 win over Bristol Rovers A at the Birmingham Arena on Wednesday.
It took Hereford just 90 seconds to find the back of the net with Josh Price losing his marker to shoot for goal. Goalkeeper Lucas Swain managed to get a hand to his shot but couldn’t stop it from spinning over the goal-line.
The Bulls grabbed a second goal on 12 minutes when Ryan Newton’s initial shot was saved, only for Newton to fire in the rebound.
A minute before half-time, the Gasmen were back in the game with Jake Slocombe earning and dispatching a penalty.
The second half started as the first had ended, with the Hereford defence were slow to react and Rovers' Ben Blackwell slotting home the equaliser.
Rovers were level for just 30 seconds, though, as Hereford responded fantastically - Josh Price finishing off an excellent team move for the Bulls.
An own goal levelled the game once more after pressure from Blackwell, Oliver Palmer and Kailen Grant-Davies paid off for Rovers.
But the desire of the Hereford players to win their first game showed through in the end with goals from Conor Gorman and a second for Newton finishing the game off in style.
