In the third and deciding round of matches in Group 'A' at the Khalifa Sports City Gym in Isa Town, Arsenal 'Red' defeated Arsenal 'Yellow' 6-1 to go through as group runners-up.
Ala'a Al Alawi and Rama Salem (2 each), Lamees Al Saqqa and Amira Bu Gurais (1 each) were on target for the victors, who punched the second and last ticket from this group with six points from three games.
Regan McCellan scored for the losers.
Earlier yesterday, title favourites Riffa scored their third successive victory, beating Hamad Town 33-0 to top the group with nine points.
Riffa goals included 17 from national team striker Reema Al Hashmi. Other goals came from Yasmine Fayez (6), Shaikha Al Anood Al Khalifa (3), Shaikha Shaikha bint Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, goalkeeper Shaikha Noaf bint Khalid Al Khalifa (2 each), Shaikha Duwa, Manar Ebrahim and Huda Ali (1 each).
Action continues today with the last two matches in Group 'B' at Khalifa Sports City Gym.
Bahrain's under-16 team will first take on European Academy in the first game at 4pm. It will be followed by Joga Bonito vs Happy Feet clash at 6pm.
Meanwhile, 57 athletes were in action on the first day of the athletics championship at St Christopher's Junior School premises in Saar yesterday.
The event got underway with Noor Abdulla (5.66m) of Rabaah Al Adaweya School winning the shot put gold medal. She was followed by runner-up Maryam Adnan (4.90) of Al Khansa'a School and third Bayan Isa (4.77) of Hamad Town School.
Later in the day, Amina Sultan won the high jump gold. Ala'a Isa and Isra'a Abdulamir were second and third, respectively.
In javelin throw, Areej Aziz (34.29m) of Budaiya School notched victory ahead of Yathreb School's Zaynab Jassim (29.75) and Sharifa Anwar (18.86) of Budaiya School.
