Women's Games' futsal schedule announced

The Organising Committee of the First Bahrain Women's Games yesterday announced the schedule of the Five-A-side Futsal Championship starting tomorrow.

Eight teams are in the fray in the penultimate event of the Games, which is part of the annual Bahrain Women's Day.

The teams are divided into two groups of four each. Group 'A' consists of Arsenal 'Yellow', Riffa, Arsenal 'Red' and Hamad Town. Bahrain's Under-16 team, Joga Bonito (The Beautiful Game), Happy Feet and Defence Ministry will play in Group 'B'.

To be staged at Khalifa Sports City Gym in Isa Town, the tournament gets underway with two matches on the cards.

Riffa and Arsenal 'Yellow' face off in the tournament opener at 5.30pm. It will be followed by Arsenal 'Red' vs Hamad Town game at 7pm. On Thursday, Bahrain's Under-16 team begin their campaign against Joga Bonito at 5.30pm. Happy Feet play Defence Ministry at 7pm.

The event is being held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
