Zanzeer SinghThursday, October 25, 2012A total of 32 teams have been eyed for the business house futsal Diwali Cup that will be held in Nadi next week.
The Yaloyalo Production sponsored tournament is expected to attract some of the top players from around the country.
The tournament is part of the 2012 National Diwali Celebrations which will be held in Nadi.
2012 National Diwali Celebration events director Vineel Nand said the teams would be divided into eight pools.
"This is the second time that we are organising a futsal tournament at the Nadi Sports Club," Nand said.
"The games will be controlled by members of the Nadi Football Referee's Association.
"A total of $1,500 will be up for grabs.
"The teams will boast some national futsal and district reps.
"The teams that have registered so far are mostly hotels and major business houses in Fiji."
The winner will walk away with $800 and the Diwali Cup.
The runner-up will receive $200 while the losing semi-finalists will get $100 each.
The highest goal scorer will receive a trophy while the player of the tournament will receive a holiday package on Denarau Island in Nadi.
The business house futsal tournament will be held at the Nadi Sports Club from November 2-4.
The snooker Diwali Cup will be held at the same venue from November 3-4.
