Kaunas have propelled themselves to the top of The FA National Futsal League First Division South after a convincing 5-1 win over Kickers.

Two wins on the opening two weekends have seen the reigning Southern Second Division champions start the new season in style.

The London outfit and their supporters will be delighted with their early form that has put them two points clear and remain the only Southern club with a 100% record.

London United built on an impressive opening day win over Genesis by holding champions Helvecia to a 3-3 draw at the Sporthouse.

In a very lively and competitive encounter, James Rosa’s side twice came from behind to rescue a point as they begin to build an unbeaten run.

Baku United got their first victory of the season, beating Janio Cruz’s West London 10-7 at Bethnal Green while FC Baltic demolished a hapless Genesis side 7-0 at the University of East London.

In the Midland’s Division One, Cardiff City went some way to repairing a dismal opening day display against Oxford City Lions, beating Birmingham Futsal Club (formerly Team United) 4-1.

Oxford meanwhile continued their superb start, roaring to a 14-0 victory over newly promoted Gloucester Futsal Revolution.

With only two games in the Midlands, the huge victory left Enrique Guillen’s Lions firmly in control at the summit of the league table.

With Loughborough not in action this weekend and Bath and Birmingham Tigers still to kick off their campaigns, Oxford will know only too well that they must continue to build on their epic start to stay clear of a very hungry chasing pack.
