Futsal countdown

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) began its countdown to the Futsal World Cup yesterday.

The Nov 1-18 tournament will be held in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima with the capital being the main host city.

The countdown venues in Bangkok are at the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), CentralWorld, Nong Chok, BMA headquarters and Thai-Japan Youth Centre, Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra said.

"We are ready to welcome the 24 participating countries," he said.

He said the Bangkok Futsal Arena in Bangkok's Nong Chok district will be complete in time for the tournament.

"It will be one of the best arenas in Asia," he said. "We know time is running out but all concerned parties are working hard."

League Cup draw
Campions Buriram United will face Bangkok Glass and Ratchaburi will meet TOT in the League Cup semi-finals.
