BernamaFutsal Field To Be Completed In Time For Thai 2012 Futsal World ChampionshipBANGKOK, Sept 20 -- Deputy Bangkok Governor Theerachon Manomaipiboon on Thursday said that Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has completed 83 per cent of the construction of the futsal field that would be used for the 2012 Futsal World Championship from Nov 1-18, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
The deputy governor said he expected the field to be completed in time for the tournament, despite the delay due to the recent continuous heavy rain in the city, noting that after the roofs are installed, works in other parts of the field should become easier to complete.
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has planned to visit the field and inspect it on Oct 12 and would officially inaugurate the field on Oct 20.
The field can accommodate up to 12,000 spectators and has a car park that can take in up to 1,000 vehicles.
