MYERS’ JUNIOR FUTSAL SQUAD CONFIRMED FOR MACCABIAH 2013

Laurence Myers has officially announced his Junior Futsal Squad who will be representing Team GB at the 2013 Maccabiah Games. Myers and his Assistant Manager, Scott Warren, have chosen 11 U16 players to travel to Israel next summer, with one Non-Travelling Reserve.

The squad will be looking to better the performance from 2009, where the Under 16’s managed a 5th place finish, beating France on two occasions. Myers will be looking to achieve this will the strong line-up he has recruited.

The squad is as follows:

Speaking about his ambitions for the team, Manager Myers said, “Both Scott and I are very excited about the journey ahead. We feel we have assembled a very strong squad who are more than capable of bringing home a medal’

He continued, ‘We will be working very hard over the next 10 months to make sure the squad is as well prepared as possible and hope to give all the boys the experience of a lifetime. Although the lads are young, compared to other age groups, it is a fantastic opportunity for them to represent their country and have that link between themselves and Israel, which will hopefully be a memorable one.’
