This is Gloucester ShireNational debut is ready to kick-offSaturday, September 15, 2012GLOUCESTER Futsal Revolution are gearing up for the first game of their first season in the FA National League Midlands Division.
The team founded by Gloucester City Supporters' Trust, won promotion to the National League after a successful 2011/12 season.
They kick-off their first season in the FA National League system with a game against Loughborough on Sunday.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at GL1, but with refurbishment work being undertaken there, it has been switched to Swindon.
Team manager Jim Hart has been making his final signings ahead of the new term at the top national level of national Futsal
Daniel Wallington, Lucas Brimfield, Matt Davies have all signed up - the trio were previously with Futsal Hereford along with the highly rated Milan Punak.
And former Gloucester City trialist Ben Prictor has also joined the ranks – making him the first player to have played for both the City and Futsal clubs.
The four new signings join the rest of the squad, made up of a mix of local talent from Gloucester and students from the University of Gloucestershire.
Looking forward to a tough first game, Hart said that Loughborough would give his side an idea of the raised standards in the national division.
"We've built a great squad and everyone is excited to start the season," Hart said.
"We know we have a tough test against Loughborough in our first game, they have a national academy for Futsal but our lads are more than capable of bringing the game to them.
"For Gloucester to have a Futsal team competing on the national stage is a big deal and we hope to see people down at GL1 cheering on our boys this season."
