London 2012 Paralympic GamesBrazil aim for Rio repeat09 September 2012Brazil coach Ramon Pereira De Souza reveled in victory as his team took the London 2012 Football 5-a-side crown, and then insisted they will be going all out for a repeat in Rio in four years' time. The South Americans continued their complete domination of the event with a third straight title after a 2-0 final victory over France.
That brought a thrilling end to the competition at the Riverbank Arena, as a penalty from Gabriel da Silva and an own goal from France goalkeeper Martin Baron settled the gold-medal match.
The Brazilians were run close during the tournament, and as well as France, both Spain and Argentina can take heart from their performance - the Spaniards taking bronze with a penalty shoot-out win.
But De Souza has already turned his attention to defending Brazil's title on home soil at the next Paralympic Games in Rio in 2016, and he insists they will not let up in their quest to remain the best team in the world.
He said: 'It means a lot to us [to win the gold medal]. There was a lot of pressure to perform well because we have won gold medals twice. Thank God everything went well.
'Brazil are special, they are very united. The players fit in very well together.
'We hope to have the same success [at Rio 2016] and also in the competitions before that.'
