The AFC.comThailand given reality check by SpainSaturday, 25 August 2012 21:59One of the Asian representatives in the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2012 Thailand were given a reality check by two-time World champions Spain with a thumping 8-0 win in the futsal friendly international played at Nimbutr Gymnasium – one of the venues of the upcoming futsal World Cup starting from November 1.
The hosts of the World Cup, who were also the runners-up of recently concluded AFC Futsal Championship 2012, will play one more match against the Spanish giants on Sunday at Nakhon Ratchasima.
Thailand led by Dutchman Vic Hermans just completed a European tour as their preparation for the World Cup to be organized in four different futsal arenas across Thailand.
Hosts Thailand are in Group A and will be hoping to overcome Costa Rica, Ukraine and Paraguay to make it through to the Round of 16. They will take on Costa Rica in their first match of the tournament at the Bangkok Futsal Arena.
