Luca Ranocchiari - Futsalplanet.com editorTwo days ago the
Venezuelan Football Federation through its official web site confirmed the groups composition and the nations taking part in the 5th edition of the
South American Futsal Championships Under 20 run by
Conmebol. Unfortunately, as was already known since some weeks,
Paraguay (focused on the "A" team preparation for Thailand 2012 as reported by
Pasion Futsal) and
Ecuador (financial reasons) won't take part in the competition (set to take place in
San Cristobal, Venezuela, September 23-30: the same place hosted the 2006 edition of the youth futsal challenge) which will therefore be played by eight nations, splitted into the following groups (waiting for the Conmebol final confirmation):
Group ABrazil
Colombia
Chile
Uruguay
Group BArgentina
Bolivia
Peru
Venezuela
Rafael Almarza, head of the Venezuelan futsal committee, also reported that the winner of this tournament will take part in an international tournament in Europe (fixture and participants to be confirmed).
The best two ranked from each group will enter the semifinal pairings, all games will be played in the hall
Campeones Mundiales del ’97 which guarantees a seat for 7.500 futsal fans.
