Take your first step to a Futsal scholarship with the Leeds United Foundation

If you are considering a career in the sports industry then next week’s Futsal Trials for The Leeds United Foundation Futsal and Education Scholarship is for you! The Leeds United Foundation are now recruiting for their second cohort of learners after enjoying such a success with their first recruitment drive.

Futsal is an exciting new variation of football, which is growing in popularity in this country.

If you are a promising 16 to 18-year-old footballer who is thinking about becoming a coach or obtaining a first-class education then go along to the trials which will be held on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st of August.

The trials are taking place from 6pm to 7pm at the Leeds Futsal Arena, Unit 25, Milshaw Park, Leeds, LS10 0LU. The trials will be taking place indoors so appropriate footwear should be worn.

The scholarship is a part-time education course which, upon completion, will open many doors for the students.

They will obtain a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, which is worth up to three A-Levels. The diploma could also help people gain access to university or college, and there would be the chance to further a career in sports coaching, futsal or refereeing after the course is finished.

Mick Ferguson, head of The Foundation, said: “Futsal is growing in popularity and this course gives youngsters the chance to train and play as well as further their education.

The course consists of futsal training for eight hours a week with The Leeds United Foundation coaching staff as well as fortnightly fixtures against other club teams in the Football League Trust Futsal League.

The Leeds United Foundation will be holding futsal trials for male 16-18 year olds and will be held on 20th and 21st August
