Dewsbury ReporterBattyeford Belles football squad looking for new playersA FOOTBALL club is looking for female players to join its squad next season.
Battyeford Sporting Club launched its girls squad, the Battyeford Belles, last season and the team has gone from strength to strength.
On Saturday, they won the inaugural competition at the new International Futsal Arena in Leeds.
The centre, which officially opened at the weekend, is dedicated entirely to futsal, a FIFA-approved variation of indoor football.
Normally the Battyeford Belles meet and train at West Mills Playing Fields in Huddersfield Road and, in the winter, at the Mirfield Free Grammar at Sixth Form in Kitson Hill Road.
At the end of the month, the club will be hosting a taster weekend for any girls aged six to 15 who are interested in signing up.
The sessions will be held at the Huddersfield Road playing fields on Friday August 31, 6pm-8pm, and Saturday September 1, 10am-noon.
For more information call the club’s head of girls football, Chris Hoyle, on 0777 3817 763 or visit www.battyeford.co.uk.
