The Borneo PostPioneer futsal coaches complete basic courseAugust 8, 2012, WednesdayMIRI: A total of 10 futsal officials from throughout Sarawak including host Miri and neighbouring Brunei had successfully undergone a basic coaching course at the Futsal Court Piasau Jaya Phase 1, here recently.
The two-day coaching course was conducted by Vikings Futsal Sarawak Instructor Awang Zaifulizan Abdul Rahman and assisted by Fadillah Ibrahim – Vikings Futsal Miri’s Liasion officer and coach.
It was organised by Vikings Futsal Miri and was divided into two sessions – theory and practical.
The Basic Training coaching course included brief history and introduction of futsal, specific futsal techniques such as passing, receiving/controlling, dribbling, heading, shooting and basic goalkeeping.
Also included in the course were basic attacking and defending system in futsal.
Vikings Futsal Miri hoped that the coaches have acquired useful knowledge that can be used and shared during their own coaching sessions.
“Our aim was to promote better futsal training system so that future futsal players knows the fundamentals of the game,”
“We have received good response from the participants and they are looking forward to continue their coaching quest for Vikings Futsal Level 1 Coaching Certification,” Fadillah told the Borneo Post.
Fadillah revealed that Vikings Futsal Miri is also looking forward to organising the Tri-Unique Vikings Futsal League in September.
Coaches who are involved in the league must possess at least Vikings Futsal Coaching Certification.
